Occupational Health and Safety Systems

Having an OHS system is one thing, but everyone using it and living it within the workplace is another. A practical and simple system that is regularly audited not only helps employers comply with their legislative obligations but saves money and lowers the risk.

Our approach to OHS consulting services is innovative, independent and practical . Projects have ranged from assisting one of the largest Commonwealth Government Departments employing over 50,000 people create their overarching Safety Governance System, through to developing an OHS manual for a small accounting practice and training their OHS Committee.

Here is how one of our clients in a large Victorian Government organisation described one project:

"ResolutionsRTK was engaged for the purpose of re-developing and auditing Service Standards in the three programs: Occupational Health and Safety, WorkCover, and Injury Management across the state of Victoria.

The department revised and developed its standards in the above areas of corporate responsibility in consultation with ResolutionsRTK and the Consultants in each of the three programs. An audit of Service Standards in each of the three programs was undertaken by ResolutionsRTK.

In order to achieve a successful outcome ResolutionsRTK managed a wide number key tasks and activities, including:

• Presentations to respective Forums of Consultants: OHS, Injury Management, and WorkCover
• Review of the respective Service Standards, or their development where such did not exist, in consultation with the relevant Consultants and the Project Team
• Development of the audit methodology and audit tools
• Collation and review of documentation, processes and systems across the three programs
• Reporting and Feedback to all consultants, areas and management groups

The project achieved a number of specific objectives. It established a base-line for service standards and ongoing monitoring, identified gaps in existing processes and skills, laid the foundations for achieving continuous improvement and consistency across the state.

At all stages of the project ResolutionsRTK carefully managed the expectations of all areas and consultants involved in this large scale intervention, and achieved buy in from all stakeholders.
