Manager Assist

Manager Assist is a coaching service designed specifically for line managers, project/team leaders and supervisors . The aim is to assist them successfully lead, manage and support their teams. This is achieved by increasing their repertoire of people management skills so that they can:

  • Communicate effectively
  • Lead through change
  • Deal with conflict
  • Identify and manage at risk behaviours
  • Maximise performance in line with expected outcomes

How Can Manager Assist Help?

In addition to the resources available within your HR Department, Manager Assist can:

  • Provide a proactive, confidential and supportive opportunity for staff to identify and resolve people management issues before they emerge or become resistant to intervention
  • Facilitate learning on the job without loss of time from the workplace
  • Enhance existing people management and leadership skills

Areas of assistance include:

  • Interpersonal and team conflict
  • Managing change and transition – organisational and personal
  • Team building and people management coaching
  • Performance management (within company policy and processes)
  • Work role and work load related pressures
  • Style awareness including working with different styles
  • Work performance and time management
  • Balancing operational and strategic demands of the role
  • Work/Life balance

How does Manager Assist Work?

Manager Assist can be delivered as either

  • A stand alone service or
  • As one of three service streams under a People Assist Program.

Manager Assist can also be accessed on an individual or group basis. For instance, small groups of managers may be responsible for a pending change process or dealing with an imminent restructure, have several staff with behavioural issues causing stress in the team or be seeking to learn more about their own styles and how they can best manage different styles in the workplace. It can be delivered onsite at your premises or offsite through our network of serviced offices.

The scope of Manager Assist is determined with you. You can prescribe the number of sessions available per service user or group, the method for promoting the service, the type of reporting required by your organisation and the service measures to evaluate its effectiveness.

We endeavour to provide additional value to the reporting function by presenting emerging themes and issues whilst maintaining the anonymity of the individual service users.

Manager Assist is funded on a fee for sevice basis depending on access arrangements and based on cost competitive rates.
