Health and Wellbeing Assessment

The workplace can be a demanding environment, with continual change and relentless work demands. There are many factors that can have an impact on individuals, teams, departments or organisations – some positively, others less so – and these can have flow on effects to morale, team culture and staff wellbeing.

Views across a group of staff tend to be mixed about what's working and what's not. Some staff report feeling things are travelling well and are generally happy at work. Others may report feeling unhappy or frustrated with certain aspects of their work and the direction their team or organisation is headed.

Often it is difficult to work out what's going on across a larger team or organisation unless you take the time to check in to see what is going on. Most employers tend to do this well. Sometimes however, even great employers need help to get a sound and objective perspective about how their team is really travelling. This is where an external, independent assessment conducted by a skilled third party organisation can be a great resource to work out what is going on, how pervasively issues or concerns might be held and what can be done about them. Once the organisation has a clearer picture about this, it can take further steps to improve things. We call this type of intervention a Health and Wellbeing Assessment (H&WA).

The H&WA process is a voluntary, non-punitive approach that seeks to identify the underlying issues or concerns and determine options and recommendations for mitigating risk (where evident) for the future benefit of the organisation and its employees.

The following steps are typical of ResolutionsRTK H&WA process:

Step 1 – Briefing to develop the terms of reference and scope of the assessment

Step 2 – Designing the communications strategy, including staff briefing

Step 3 – Tailoring of standard questionnaire and interview questions

Step 4 – Staff briefing session

Step 5 – Conducting employee/ stakeholder interviews or focus groups

Step 6 – Assessment and weighting of identified issues and risks

Step 7 – Generating report: focusing on key findings

Step 8 – Report feedback and action plan

ResolutionsRTK has extensive experience in conducting all types of psychological risk assessments and related audits. Our services are designed to comply with the current OHS legislative requirements of all employers, for the benefit of both employees and the organisation.
