Facilitated Meetings

Our experienced and qualified practitioners can advise you which conflict resolution service is best suited to your requirements. Whether there is a preference for Mediation or a Facilitated Meeting, the objective is to promote negotiation in terms of the underlying needs and interests of the parties. Both are particularly effective and helpful processes when the parties are invested in an ongoing relationship in the workplace, such as colleagues, members of a team or department, supervisor/staff member, etc. The process can provide parties with a way to transform the way they interact with each other.

Usually a more informal approach than Mediation, the Facilitated Meeting is also a highly effective intervention process that is increasingly being used in the workplace setting.

A Facilitated Meeting involves bringing together everyone who may have been affected by a dispute, conflict or action, and discussing the nature of action and the impact that it has had on the individuals.

The experienced convener focuses on providing an effective process and structure for the meeting, which, in turn, allows the participants to focus on the content or the substance of their work together. The Meeting may have a variety of goals and may sometimes combine facilitative and advisory dispute resolution processes.

Our conveners are experienced mediators and facilitators, and have extensive knowledge and skills regarding group dynamics and processes in the organizational environment, and dispute resolution techniques, and use them to formulate and deliver the needed structure for the participants’ facilitated interactions to be effective. Together, they identify the disputed issues, develop options, consider alternatives, and endeavour to reach an agreement. The convener will work on the problems and challenges with the participants, and has the ability to realize when effective processes are needed and to provide those processes.

A Facilitated Meeting is a confidential process, so that an open and honest discussion of the issues can readily take place.

Client Feedback

“Our team of four were having some issues that were making it really hard to work together. The Facilitator helped us to get the issues on the table and really talk about them for the first time. We spent the day together, and were able to creatively come up with some ideas and solutions.”
