Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluation
The CFCE is an innovation in the management of psychological injury claims. It has been designed to provide a tangible measure against which duties in the workplace can be assessed to determine their suitability.
Primary benefits include:
- Assisting in the management of psychological injury claims by assessing an individual’s cognitive capacity (such as awareness, perception, reasoning and judgment) in the context of their ability to perform required employment duties.
- Improving return to work outcomes by assessing an individual’s cognitive capacity within the framework of reported psychological symptoms.
Service Delivery Model
Management of psychological injury claims utilising the Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluator (CFCE) involves three key stages:
- Cognitive Functional Assessment
- Worksite Assessment
- Case Conference with the Treating Practitioner
