Career Assist

Career Assist responds to the needs of staff and managers seeking to enhance their career mobility and opportunities, and is often related to an internal career development initiative or in response to career transition issues created by their changing work environment e.g. restructures.

How can Career Assist Help?

Specifically, Career Assist can provide the necessary support and clarity to those employees who are:

  • At the end of their contract period and are unclear as to their next career move
  • Not sure what their skills, abilities and interests are and want to clarify what their strengths might be
  • Unhappy with their current position and want to explore options for the future
  • Uncertain about their next career step and seeking to identify other job opportunities
  • Experiencing major change, either personal or professional, causing them to rethink their goals and priorities
  • Under-stimulated in their current position
  • Feeling unable to meet the challenges of their current job
  • Seeking an independent perspective on their current job fit or future career plans
  • Facing redundancy or redeployment due to internal change processes and wanting to access confidential outplacement support

Access to Career Assist enables employees to seek the assistance before it seriously affects their ability to function productively in the workplace or become despondent with the organisation and move on.

How does Career Assist Work?

Career Assist can be delivered as either

  • A stand alone service or
  • As one of three service streams under a People Assist Program.

Career Assist can also be accessed on an individual or group basis. For instance, small groups of employees may be coming to the end of a contract, have a body of work where the future is uncertain, or be affected by major transitions taking place within the work environment. It can be delivered onsite at your premises or offsite through our network of serviced offices.

The scope of Career Assist is determined with you. You can prescribe the number of sessions available per service user or group, the method for promoting the service, the type of reporting required by your organisation and the service measures to evaluate its effectiveness.

We endeavour to provide additional value to the reporting function by presenting emerging themes and issues whilst maintaining the anonymity of the individual service users.

Career Assist is funded on a fee for sevice or per head basis depending on access arrangements and based on cost competitive rates.
