Building Resilience
Our bodies and minds have a wonderful way of letting us know something is wrong – from losing our temper, being withdrawn, negative thoughts, sleeping problems, headaches, memory and concentration problems, aches and pains, to lowered confidence. But many people ignore these warnings and push on until their lives and health suffer. Building Resilience programs assist people to recognise these symptoms and proactively act, rather than put their heads in the sand hoping that things will magically change for the better.
The program develops awareness in participants of what resilience is, how to assess their own levels of resilience, when they are at risk and what to do about it. It is a particularly useful program for managers to assist them in supporting team members to take care of their health, happiness and performance, all of which contributes powerfully to well functioning teams.
Building Resilience programs facilitate skills and behaviours that can help participants cultivate a more satisfying and balanced lifestyle, including:
- Maintaining a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Understanding what makes you happy and making it happen…not waiting for it to happen!
- Building and maintaining a strong resilience so that you can effectively manage the daily challenges that come your way.
- Practising the ‘3 pronged approach’ to stress management
- Knowing what you can control and not wasting your time with what you cannot control.
- Developing tolerance for styles of people that really can annoy you and drain your energy, and proactive ways to interact with them.
Turning difficult situations into learning opportunities…..for you!
